Gray Cold Shoulder Dress

4 / 20 / 174 / 20 / 17

Dress: TOBI | Shoes: Target | Necklace: Charming Charlie (similar, similar)

Hi, everyone! Spring has finally sprung here, and I think it’s here to stay. This is the perfect weather for outfits like this cute gray cold shoulder dress. I love the look of the cutouts on the shoulders. It’s the perfect addition to my spring wardrobe. Shift dresses are some of my favorites for the spring/summer months. They’re very breezy and keep you cool on warm days.

A few weeks ago it was snowing and by the weekend it was 70 degrees. I’ve been quite bummed about still having to wear a heavy jacket in April, but the sun has come out and I’ve been able to trade those jacket for spring dresses. This is the first cold shoulder dress that I have owned and I am in love with it.

I believe this is the first Easter in a long time that I’ve actually been able to wear sandals. These gold ones are one of my favorites! I love the color of them. They go with so much. I love pairing a solid color dress with longer necklaces. This rose gold tassel necklace is one of my favorites. I love the color of the necklace against the gray of the dress.

I hope you all enjoyed this post. If you like this gray cold shoulder dress you can pick it up at Tobi.com. I’m in love with these gorgeous flowers blooming lately. They put me in a happy mood. I’ve posted a few pictures of my spring adventures on my Instagram if you would like to check it out. If you want more from me you can follow me on my social medias. They’re linked in the sidebar and down below. Check out my last blog post, if you haven’t already!

Casual Oversized Blazer

2 / 9 / 172 / 9 / 17

Tank Top: Aeropostale | Blazer: LOFT (similar) | Jeans: Hollister | Boots: Target (similar)

Hi, everyone! I hope you all are enjoying your week so far. I’m in love with this casual oversized blazer. I love blazers but sometimes I find it hard to style them. I don’t want to look like I just stepped out of the office. Blazers, I feel, automatically give off an air of professionalism, however I find that you can change how that comes across with the fit you pick and the way you style them. This blazer is very classy looking while remaining casual and laid back. I’m a huge fan of neutrals particularly gray. If I can buy it in gray there’s a good chance I’m getting it.

I wanted to keep the rest of this look pretty simple as usual. My lace tank top is the perfect touch of a pattern for me. It adds another dimension to the outfit without adding color. If you’ve read my blog for a while you will know my love for these riding boots. In the winter here you can only pick from a very short list of sensible shoes while still looking cute. Riding boots are my go-to shoes for winter. For accessories I just added a simple gold initial pendant. I used to love to accessorize absolutely everything I could. However lately I like to keep it minimal with only a necklace and some earrings.

I hope you all have a lovely week and found this casual oversized blazer look helpful. If you missed my last post I will have it linked here. These photos were taken a few weeks ago and sadly since then all the snow has melted. I don’t know about you but I would rather have snow on the ground if it’s going to be cold out. If you aren’t following my social medias yet head over and give them a follow. They’re linked in the sidebar and down below.

Abstract Dress

1 / 9 / 17

Dress: Target | Cardigan: Target | Shoes: Payless

Hi everyone! I’m in love with this abstract dress. I got it for my 18th birthday a few years ago. This isn’t something I would normally think of wearing but I love it. The colors are gorgeous. I love the fit and flare style of it. It’s very flattering.  Normally I can’t wear a lot of patterns but I can pull this off.

This abstract dress is sleeveless, so to wear it in the winter time I like to pair it with this black cardigan. If you have followed my blog for a while you will have seen this cardigan a lot. Cardigans are a great staple piece especially for the colder weather. However, I wear them all year around. Nude ballet flats are another staple piece. They also go with basically everything. Because there is a lot going on with the abstract dress, I wanted to keep the other pieces of clothing minimal. That way all the focus be on the dress.

I hope you all are having a great week. If you missed my last post I will have it linked here. Follow me on my social media, they are linked in the sidebar and down below. This abstract dress was a little out of my box when I first purchased it. It’s quickly become one of my favorites though. I encourage you to try something that’s a little outside of you box. It may surprise you.

Black Mesh Sweatshirt

1 / 4 / 171 / 4 / 17

Sweatshirt: SheIn | Jeans: Hollister | Boots: Target (similar) | Necklace: (similar)

Hi, everyone. I’m in love with this black mesh sweatshirt. I think it’s so unique but still casual. It gives a cute flare to your normal sweatshirt. I love the mesh top. The black mesh sweatshirt is from SheIn. If you would like to check them out I will have them linked here. They have cute clothing for affordable prices.

If you’ve read my blog for a while you will know that these riding boots are one of my favorites. I like how the jeans lighter jeans look with the contrast of the two blacks. Longer necklaces go well with simple tops in my opinion. They give the top something a little extra without being over the top.

You may have noticed I took a bit of an unplanned break over the holiday season. As I’m sure all of you know life can get pretty hectic during that time and I had to put blogging on the back burner for a bit. I’m happy to say that I’m back at it again. Posts should resume the normal schedule of Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I’m making this a New Years resolution to be more consistent with blogging, although not promising it will always happen.

I hope you all had a lovely holiday season. I can’t believe it’s already 2017!  May this new year be your best year yet. If you missed my last post I will have it linked here. All of the snow melted since my last post which is very upsetting. I thought for sure we would get a white Christmas this year :(. Follow me on my social medias for more. Leather Jacket

Leather Jacket

Jacket: Kenneth Cole (similar) | Shirt: Target | Jeans: Hollister | Scarf: similar style | Boots: Kohls (similar)

Hi, everyone! For today’s post I’m sharing how I styled this leather jacket. I’ve had this leather jacket for a while now, but I haven’t worn it that often. I pulled it out of my closet a few weeks ago and I’ve enjoyed wearing it. It’s something a bit different for my style. This is a great casual outfit for autumn.

If you’ve read my blog for a while, then you will know that I’m a huge fan of the color maroon. Pashmina scarves are some of my favorites for the colder months. Unlike cashmere (which is another favorite of mine), pashmina is more on the silk side while still being soft. I own a bunch of pashmina scarves, they continue to be a staple in my autumn/winter wardrobe. I like to wear them when I want my scarf to be part of my outfit. Most of the time I wear my cashmere scarves for warmth with my coats when it’s really cold out.

White t-shirts are a must for me, I like to have them in a variety of sleeve lengths and styles. This one is a long sleeve white tee. It adds an extra layer to keep me warm. Skinny jeans are my favorite. These dark wash ones go really well with this outfit. Another thing you would know if you’ve read my blog for a while is my love of riding boots. These are two-toned. Normally brown and black don’t go too well together but I think they go perfectly in these boots.

I hope you all are having a lovely week. Sorry the blog post was a day late this week. Life has been crazy. If you missed my last blog post I will have it linked here. Follow me on my social medias, they’re linked in the side bar and down below.

Red Plaid Scarf

Red Plaid ScarfTop: Target | Jeans: Hollister | Boots: Kohls (similar style) | Scarf: Local Boutique (similar style)

Hi everyone! Today I’m sharing how I styled this red plaid scarf. This is another Thanksgiving outfit inspiration post. Every Wednesday until Thanksgiving I will be posting outfit inspiration for Thanksgiving. If you missed last weeks outfit inspiration I will have it linked here. This red plaid scarf would be perfect for laid back Thanksgiving, where you just want to be comfy yet still cute. I really like how this outfit turned out.

I’ve had this scarf for forever. I love the red and the different colors of the plaid. It’s flannel so it keeps you super warm on those chilly autumn days. If you’ve read my blog for a while then you will know that I’m a big fan of neutrals. I like to have a bunch of basics and neutral colors and then add color with things like this red plaid scarf or a bright coat. This black light sweater is a big staple for me. I wear it all the time. It goes with so much and I think it looks great with this outfit. I love skinny jeans, it’s actually the only kind of jeans I own. These distressed ones go great with this look. I love combat boots, they’re a nice change from my normal riding boots and booties. These go great with this outfit and tie the look together. I have really small feet and these are actually kids size, but I will have an adult pair linked above.

I hope you all enjoyed how I styled this red plaid scarf. If you missed my last blog post I will have it linked here. Follow me on my social medias, if you haven’t already, they’re linked in the side bar and down below. I always love connecting with you. I hope you all have a great week.

An Autumn Outfit

An Autumn OutfitShirt: Forever 21 (similar style) | Jeans: Hollister | Cardigan: Target (similar style) | Hat: Forever 21 | Boots: Target (similar style) | Necklace: Zaful

Hi, everyone! Today I’m sharing an autumn outfit. I’m in love with this outfit! From the olive-green shirt to the big floppy hat, I just love it turned out. It’s the perfect autumn outfit in my opinion.  I wore it a few weeks ago on a little weekend getaway, which I wrote about and you can read here. I’m starting a little Thanksgiving series. Every Wednesday until Thanksgiving I’m going to be sharing Thanksgiving outfit ideas. I think this would be perfect for a dressy casual Thanksgiving, this is what I might be wearing.

If you have read my blog for a while you will know that I’m obsessed with a few things, riding boots and the colors olive-green and dark red. Almost every autumn outfit of mine is compiled of one or more of these things. This will come at no surprise but I love this shirt! I love the style of it, the neckline, and obviously the color. I haven’t always been a huge lover of hats, but recently I’ve started to get into them more. This floppy hat is just perfect for autumn. I’m kind of obsessed with it. I think it takes an outfit to a whole new level. Now that it’s chillier cardigans and jeans are a must. These are my go to’s when I’m in need of them. Riding boots just scream autumn to me, I’m always so excited to break of them out. I’ve gotten into layered necklaces lately. I think this triangle marble and gold one just finishes off the outfit perfectly.

I hope you all enjoyed this autumn outfit. If you missed my last blog post I will have it linked here. Follow me on my social medias, they’re linked in the sidebar and down below. Just in case you didn’t know I post every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, so check back for new posts. I hope you are all having a lovely week!

Black and White Tribal Print Shorts

Hi everyone! I hope you are all having a wonderful start to your week! I recently went shopping and picked up these adorable black and white tribal print shorts. I think I might be obsessed!

Every year my Mom, Nana, sister and I go to this little town to go shopping, as a Mother’s Day treat. As we’ve gotten older, we’ve gotten busier and our yearly trip has gotten pushed back until summer hits. But we’ve still always managed to make it there eventually. This year I found these super cute black and white tribal print shorts from a little boutique. I fell in love with them.

I really love printed shorts. They’re always super comfy and feel like pajama bottoms, but make you look put together without any of the real effort. I love the black and white. I’m kind of a sucker for that color combination. I just think it’s a very classic combo. I’m one of those people who can’t take much pattern without the pattern overtaking me. But this tribal pattern I can do. The little pom detailing along the hem and going down the sides just makes the shorts that much better. I love the waistband. It has a small rope detailing that you don’t see all the time.

I think that the shorts are enough of a pattern for the whole outfit. So I paired the shorts with a plain black v-neck t-shirt. I love these t-shirts, I think they just go with so much. I wear them all the time. I think I own them in about every color.

To finish everything off, I added a long necklace with hammered metal circles going along it, and some of my favorite sandals.

I hope you all have a lovely week! If you missed my last post I will have a link here. Also, if you ever want to know what I’m wearing in this post, I always link it down below.

Cattleya Xx.

Wide Brim Red Hat

Wide Brim Red HatWide Brim Red HatWide Brim Red HatWide Brim Red HatWide Brim Red Hat

Wide Brim Red HatWide Brim Red HatWide Brim Red Hat

Hi everyone! I’m not a big fan of hats, but this wide brim red hat I’m just in love with. I love this color, I have many articles of clothing in this color. I kept the rest of my outfit fairly simple and I love the way it looks. This look is put together with a bunch of my favorite basics that I have had for years, with the exception of the hat.

My top is just a basic black crew neck T-shirt.  I think everyone needs one of these in their wardrobe, you can wear them with so much, and their very versatile.  I don’t think you need to spend a bunch of money on simple basic like a T-shirt, I got this one from Target a while back, I wear it a lot, and it’s still as good as new.  My jeans are another article that I have had for a while. I really like the wash of these, you can’t find this color very often. My necklace I got a few years back and I love the uniqueness of it. I had never seen anything like it before, which is why I had to have it when I saw it. It’s not a dainty necklace, but it’s not exactly a statement necklace either. I love that it just adds something to an outfit, it doesn’t distract. It’s one of those necklaces that just adds another element to the outfit without being the center of attention. As for my cute booties, they’re a lovely taupe shade, with little ruffles on the side. And, of course, last but not least, my hat. As I said earlier I’m not a huge fan of hats, I barely own any, but I really like this one.  I love the color. I love the shape. I love the little bow on the side.  Normally when I picture wide brim hats, I picture the beach, but this wide brim red hat is perfect for cooler weather. I think it ties the look together.

I hope everyone is having a lovely week. Try something new this week as I did with my hat. Stay warm!

Love, Cattleya
