My Fitness Tips

5 / 9 / 175 / 10 / 17

Hi everyone! With summer quickly approaching I decided to share my fitness tips. I am not a huge health nut and I don’t work out super hard all the time. These are just the things that I find help keep me on track with my fitness goals.

The first thing I find super useful is my fitbit. I have the fitbit alta. I’m sure you’ve heard of a fitbit before and what they do. I like mine to keep track of my steps, activity, how many calories I burn, and my sleep levels. The daily recommendation for how many steps you should take in a day is 10,000. I hit that goal about 5 times a week. I’m trying to get it up to all 7. The fitbit app is also really helpful. That is where you can check all of your stats, you can even enter how many cups of water you drink and what you eat.

The next thing is something I’m sure everyone is well aware of. That is drinking enough water. I try to drink 4-16oz cups a day. I can always tell a difference in my body when I’m drinking enough water. Everything improves, my energy levels, my skin, and just my overall body. You can track how many cups your drinking through any of the apps I will mention in this post. My favorite way to track my water is through my planner. I check mark off a box every time I finish a cup.

I’ve already talked about the fitbit app and the features on there. I like the Apple Health app to view everything in one place. It takes data from all of your other health/fitness apps and displays all the data in one list. Unfortunately, the fitbit app isn’t compatible with the health app. So you can’t see how many steps you’ve taken or calories you’ve burned.

My fitness pal is what I like to use to track what I’ve eaten. I find it the easiest to use. You can set your goals whether you want to lose weight, maintain weight, or gain weight and they will tell you how many calories you should be eating a day. There’s also a scanner on this app where you can easily scan the bar code of the food and it will tell you how many calories is in it. My fitness pal is compatible with fitbit.

I love S’Workit. I had never heard of an app like this before discovering this one. It makes working out so  easy for me. You first begin by choosing 1 of 4 different types of work outs, strength, cardio, yoga, or stretching. Then from there you can choose a multitude of workouts targeting different muscles and areas of the body. You can also choose how long you want to work out from 5 minutes all the way up to an hour. After you’ve chosen all of that s’workit will come up with a workout for you. Each exercise is 30 seconds. They will tell you what do along with a demo video for each one.

Do something you love that gets you active. Whether that be taking a walk outside, running, swimming, or even dancing. I’m a dancer. I’m in the studio almost everyday. That is where I get most of my exercise from. I think it’s much more enjoyable to exercise if you are doing something fun than spending a few hours in a gym everyday.

I hope you all enjoyed my fitness tips and found them helpful.  If you missed my last post I will have it linked here. Follow me on my social medias. They’re linked in the side bar and down below.

October Favorites 2016

10 / 31 / 1610 / 31 / 16

October Favorites 2016Hi, everyone. Today I’m sharing my October favorites. I know I say this just about every month, but, I can’t believe another month has gone by already. It’s crazy to think that we’re nearing the end of 2016. This year has gone by so fast. I’m pretty sure everyone says this though. So without further ramblings here’s my October favorites.

October Favorites 2016My first favorite is this purse from Franco Sarto that I picked up at the end of September. I’ve used it all month and been loving it. I’m not exactly sure what color it is. In some lights it looks pink, in other it looks purple, and then most of the time I think it looks beige. No matter the color I’m in love with it. I love the tassel and the hardware.

October Favorites 2016My sister’s birthday was this month and she got a birthday gift from ulta. It was the urban decay single eyeshadow in ‘Midnight Cowboy‘ . She didn’t want it so she gave it to me. It’s a pretty champagne shade with a bit of sparkle. A champagne color is my go to for everyday shadow. I’ve loved this one.

DKNY ‘Be Delicious’ is one of my old-time favorites. I normally wear it in the autumn. It’s very nostalgic for me. Everytime I wear it, it puts me in an autumnal mood. It’s an apple scent with hints of exotic flowers and sensual woods. I got it back out this month and can’t get enough.

October Favorites 2016I’ve been using a planner for about a year and a half now. I’m not sure how I ever went without using one. If you follow me on Instagram then you’ve already seen it. I love to decorate it. I find it to be useful while being creative and keeping organized. I’ve just really been enjoying this month. It keeps me from losing my mind haha.

I try to work out about 5 times a week (try being the key word haha). I discovered the app ‘SWORKIT’ this month and have loved it. It makes working out so easy. I’ve been able to get more workouts in this month by using it. You select how long you want to work out and what kind of work out you want to do. It’s seriously so great so if you like to work out at home check it out.

October Favorites 2016Apple chips. I thought they would be gross but I was wrong. They’re so good! I believe they’re just dried apple rings. I’m obsessed with them and eat them all the time now. They’re a healthier alternative to junk food.

My last favorite is a TV show. Designated survivor premiered this month and I’ve become OBSESSED with it. It’s so good! It’s my favorite show to watch at the moment. If you haven’t seen it yet you need to!

I hope you all enjoyed my October Favorites and the rest of your week. If you missed my last blog post I will have it linked here.
