South Carolina

South CarolinaHi, everyone! Today’s post is a not-so-little travel diary from my trip to South Carolina. We were there for a little over a week and it definitely wasn’t long enough. I’ve been coming here since before I could walk. My parents actually came to South Carolina on their honeymoon and fell in love with it. They’ve been coming back ever since. We took hundreds of photos while we were there. I narrowed it down as much as I could but some I just couldn’t bear to cut so there a lot. I hope you enjoy my trip!

South CarolinaWe stopped at the Riverbank Zoo and Botanical Gardens in Columbia to use up some time before we could check into our villa. I really enjoyed this zoo. That baby koala was the cutest thing in the entire world! It melted my heart!

Just like the state itself, I’ve been coming to this aquarium since I was little. I always enjoy it there. I’m obsessed with sea turtles. When I was younger a woman at this aquarium told us about the turtle patrol on the island we were staying at. Since then I’ve fallen in love with sea turtles. The aquarium has a turtle hospital in the basement. It’s the most incredible experience. They’re all in tanks about 3 foot high.  Aside from actually getting in the water with them, this is the closest you can get to one. I always love seeing them up close.

South CarolinaI love this city. It’s one of the most beautiful cities in the world. There’s a bit of a funny story with the photo above. When I was little my Nana was on a bowling league and I used to go and watch sometimes. I thought this cannon ball was a bowling ball and tried to pick it up. My parents have a photo of me trying to lift it, so I recreate the photo every year.

Okay, so this is probably my favorite part. I love the beach. When I think about vacation, I think about this (can you blame me, though?). I grew up very spoiled by this beach, there’s only ever 20 families at a time on it. When I go to public beaches and there is over 100 people I freak out. As I talked about earlier the woman introduced us to the turtle patrol. I’ve gone every year since. They keep record of when the moms lay their eggs and when the babies hatch. After a few days, they do an inventory and if there is any babies left in the nest the release them. We just got lucky enough to see a few babies this time. The dolphins are my other favorite. They do this thing where they circle the fish, charge them up onto the banks, throw themselves onto the bank, and then eat the fish. It’s the most amazing thing in the world and I’ve been lucky enough to witness it multiple times. Because they do this, they get super close to the banks and you get to see them up close.  There is only five places in the world that they do this and this is one of them.

I hope you all enjoyed this long post. I really enjoyed this trip. It’s always such an amazing week. I did a few outfit posts during this trip so if you’d like to see those I will have them linked below.

Hi, everyone. This is another post from my trip from a few weeks ago. As I talked about in this post, I’ve also been visiting Charleston since I was little. I love Charleston, it’s such a beautiful city. The architecture is gorgeous, the shopping is amazing, and I love the history that lives there. I could just walk around all day and be happy.

When I first saw this dress I instantly fell in love. I knew I had to have it. You can style this dress so many ways by changing how you put the straps. Essentially this dress is like 10 dresses  in one. You can make it more casual by just crossing the straps in the back like I’ve done or you can dress it up with different twists and ties. I’ve played around a lot with how I tie it. It’s fun to experiment. So far my favorite ways are to cross it in the back, and tying it at the nape of my neck and then wrapping it around my waist to create a more backless look. I know I’ll be getting my wear out of it.

When picking jewelry for this dress I knew I wanted something layered as the neckline was quite deep. I ended up going with this silver that had a hollow circle and a feather pendant. The rest of my accessories I kept pretty simple. I like to bring crossbody bags when I go on vacation. I like being able to have my hands free. I’ve mine for years and I love it.

I hope you are all enjoying your week. If you missed my last post I will have it linked here. I hope you enjoyed my little snippet about my trip to Charleston. I’m writing a trip post about my whole vacation and going into more detail about the places I visited. So keep an eye out for that. If you want to read more posts about my trip I will have them linked down below.
