My Favorite Spring Lip Products

5 / 17 / 17

Hi everyone! Today I wanted to share my favorite spring lip products. During the warmer months I like to keep things pretty natural with the exception of a few corals. I’m a big fan of lip stains and glosses in the spring/summer. They’re easy to throw on and go.

Mac Lipstick in Creme Cup – if you have read my blog for a while you will have read about this lipstick before. It’s slightly lighter than your natural lip color, giving you this gorgeous baby pink look. It’s great all year around but I especially like the subtle pink in the spring.

Tarte Lip Tint in Joy – this is a gorgeous coral color. It’s just bright enough to notice without being too in-your-face. This is definitely one of my favorite spring lip products. It’s a gorgeous color to add to anyone’s collection and it lasts a long time. This shade is discontinued but there’s similar shades here.

Revlon Lip Stain in Honey – this is probably the darkest lip product in this post. I love this color and it’s slightly darker than your natural lip color. It’s the perfect spring neutral when you want something a little darker than your normal lips.

L’Oreal Wet Shine Stain Lip Gloss in Pink Resistance – I love this product. The formula is super smooth and creamy.  It last super long like a stain. I love the color. This is one of my all time favorite lip products. The quality is amazing and they’re super affordable which is always a plus.

NARS Lip Gloss in Turkish Delight – I’ve spoken about this product before. I love the baby pink color. This is also another amazing product. I love the formula, it goes on super smooth and creamy. It’s great to wear on its own or on top of another product.

Benefit Coralista Lip Gloss – I got this in a little kit with a bunch of Benefit products and instantly fell in love with it. I love the color. It’s sheer but still has a really good color pay off. This is slightly on the sticky side of glosses but I don’t mind at all. I think the product is worth the hype for sure! I’ll definitely be purchasing a full size when this little one runs out.

I hope you all enjoyed my favorite spring lip products. If you missed my last blog post I will have it linked here. Check out my social medias if you haven’t already. They’re link in the side bar and down below.

April Favorites 2017

4 / 30 / 17

Hi, everyone! I hope you are all having a lovely day.  As it’s the last day of April, I thought I would share my April favorites. I discovered a few new products this month as well as rediscovering old ones.

Sunglasses – I recently picked up a new pair of sunglasses after my old favorite broke. I’m in love with the cat eye frames. These are from Jones New York.

Daisy by Marc Jacobs – I received this perfume as a present a few years ago. I love going back to it when it gets warmer out. If you couldn’t tell by the name it’s a lovely floral scent with notes of strawberry, violet leaves, jasmine, and white woods.

Benefit’s Waat’s Up – I don’t always wear highlighter but when I do it’s usually this one. I love the shimmery golden color. Because it’s a cream highlighter I find it gives more of a dewy look.

Rose Salve – I picked this up at Bath and Body Works a few weeks ago. I had heard about rose salves before, they’re advertised as a balm that you can put on any dry patch of skin to help moisturize it. I like using it on my lips the most.

Urban Decay Naked Basics – I think I’ve mentioned this in favorite posts before. As it says in the name it’s the perfect basic eye shadow colors for everyday use. You can go from a natural look to more of a dramatic look with just 6 shadows.

Maybelline Line Stiletto – I’ve been using liquid liner lately and loving it. I like to put just a thin flick on my upper lash line. The thin tip is perfect for keeping control. It holds up throughout the day and doesn’t smudge or move.

Anastasia Brow Duo – I had never been much for making a fuss over my brows. Lately though, I’ve filled them in and it’s made all the difference. I’m sure if you’ve been in the beauty community for a while you will have heard of this product, it really does live up to all the hype though. I have the color blonde.

Arrow Endure Mascara – I received this in a Birchbox a few months ago and have tried it out. I have fairly oily eyelids so many mascaras transfer onto to my upper eye throughout the day, even if they’re marketed as water proof. This mascara doesn’t transfer at all. If you’re looking for a good water proof mascara that’s actually water proof I highly recommend this one. It stays all day and looks just as good in the evening as when you put it on in the morning.

Essie Gel Nail Polish – If you’ve read my blog for a while you will know that Essie is my favorite nail polish brand. Well, I’ve recently discovered  their gel line and I don’t think I’m ever going back. It’s super smooth and doesn’t chip for days. It lasts longer than normal polish would.

Sign of the Times – Last but not least I have a song favorite. Harry Styles released his first solo single this month and it has been on repeat ever since. I’m a huge One Direction fan and have missed their music since they went on hiatus. This was like a breath of fresh air to be able to hear new music from one of them. If you haven’t heard it you need to! It’s a bit of a rock ballad and his voice is just beautiful.

I hope you all enjoyed my April favorites. Check out my last blog post! Follow me on my social media they’re linked in the sidebar and down below.

August Favorites 2016

Hi, everyone! I know I’m a little late on this, but today I’m sharing with you, my august favorites. August was kind of a busy month for me. I fit a lot of things into the month. I can’t believe it’s already September. I know everyone says this, but time really does fly.  But without further ado, let’s get into my august favorites.

Coco Mademoiselle Chanel – I love this perfume. I like to wear it only on special occasions. It always feels extra special when I wear it because I’m always doing something exciting or out of the ordinary.  The scent itself is elegant but still young. This perfume lasts me all day with one spritz. And let’s be honest the bottle just so beautiful. I like to leave it out on my perfume shelf and look at it on display.

Dr. Jart Premium BB Cream – This month I went on vacation. I wanted something lighter than a foundation, for days at the beach or just lounging around, that still had some coverage. I’d received a sample of this in a birchbox a few month  before and loved it. It has great coverage. I love that it has an SPF of 45 especially being at the beach. I like that it has beneficial factors that help your skin like anti aging and antioxidants. The coverage is great as well. It’s lighter than a regular foundation but has more coverage than a tinted moisturizer.

Benefit Coralista Lip Gloss – Benefit is one of my favorite make up brands. I love everything from their packaging to the products themselves. The coralista lip gloss was perfect for the summer months. I love the color it’s not too pigmented but gives you just the right amount of color. The formulation is amazing as well.

Rose Gold Jewelry – I’ve been loving rose gold jewelry lately. If it comes in rose gold I must have it. It’s become a bit of an obsession. Everything I buy turns out to be rose gold. I just love the color.

Woven Straw Hats – I’m not normally a hat person. I think I own like two. But this one caught my eye on a recent shopping trip and I’ve really been loving it. I’ve already done a blog post with it which you can check out here.

I hope you are all enjoying your week. I can’t wait for the cooler weather to get here and all the things that come with it. I’m a huge autumn lover. If you missed my last post I will have it linked here.

Everday Beauty ProductsHi everyone! Today I’m sharing with you my everyday beauty products, these are my go-to products that I couldn’t live without. I have tried lots of products through the years and these are the ones that are my absolute favorites and I love to use on a daily basis.

Benefits 15-Hour Face Primer is one of the best face primers I have used. I find that when I use it I get better coverage with my foundation and at the end of the day my makeup looks just as good as it did that morning.

The Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation has been a favorite of mine for the last few years and it’s the only foundation I’ll use. This foundation comes in lots of shades so I can always find my perfect color. I love the texture of the foundation and the finish on your skin. I love the coverage, you can use a little for a light coverage or add a few layers for full coverage. One of the things I love the most about this foundation is that it helps your skin, with ingredients like Amazonian clay, Vitamin A, Vitamin E, and Mineral pigments. I’ve definitely seen improvements in my skin since using it.

Another long time favorite is Physicians Formula Conceal Rx Concealer. I have used this for years and am yet to find anything better. This covers practically everything, redness, dark circles, and anything else you can think of. This stuff will last you forever, a little goes a long way.

Bare Minerals Translucent Powder is great for keeping my skin from looking shiny throughout the day. I love this powder because it’s one of the more kinder products for your skin unlike other products that makes your skin breakout.

Benefits Rockateur Blush was the first boxed powder I ever purchased. I love the color and how it looks on. This is the perfect everyday blush for me, it leaves your cheeks with a lightly flushed glow that isn’t super dramatic.

Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette is the perfect everyday eyeshadow palette for me. I love all the colors. I don’t like wearing a ton of eyeshadow during the day and I find that this is the perfect amount.

I got a sample of Benefits Roller Lash for my birthday and I have fallen in love with it. The wand is curved to give your lashes some curl. It’s gives you the perfect definition, length, and curl. It also lasts all day. I will definitely be purchasing the full size when my sample runs out.

Nars Lip Gloss in Turkish Delight has quickly become one of my favorite glosses to wear this spring. It gives a you some color without being too much. I love the creamy finish and the light pink color.

I hope you are all having a lovely week and enjoyed reading!

2015 Beauty Favorites

1 / 1 / 161 / 1 / 16

2015 Beauty Favorites2015 Beauty Favorites2015 Beauty Favorites2015 Beauty Favorites

As 2015 has come to a close, I wanted to share with you my 2015 beauty favorites. These products have been a constant in my makeup routine this year.

The Tarte “Amazonian Clay Foundation” is amazing! I got this last year for Christmas and it is just now running out, I use it almost everyday. The coverage is great, it has SPF 15 which is a huge plus for me, and they have a variety of shades to accommodate everyone. This foundation has lasted me all day. At the end of a long day it looks just as good as it did that morning. This foundation is great to apply with just your fingers or with the brush that goes with it. The “Foundation Brush” made for this foundation is also fantastic. Most days I just apply the foundation with my hands but if I want a more flawless, airbrushed look I use the brush. The brush is very dense and gives a nice finish.

The Nars blush in the color “Orgasm” is beautiful! This is one of those cult favorite and it definitely doesn’t let you down. The color is gorgeous and very pigmented, with a hint of shimmer.

For lips I have two go to glosses, Bare Minerals marvelous moxie lip gloss in the color “Maverick” and Nars gloss in “Turkish Delight“. The Bare Minerals gloss is a dark berry color, it’s my favorite dark lip color and I wear it all the time in the colder seasons. The Nars gloss is the exact opposite of the Bare Minerals gloss. It’s a beautiful light milky pink color and gives you the perfect light pink lip. My favorite lipstick is Mac “Angel“, it’s a light pink “just like your lips but better” shade. I picked it up when I was in New York a few years back and I have been in love ever since.

Perfume hands down has to go to my “Coco Mademoiselle” by Chanel. I turned 18 this year and I wanted something special to commemorate it with and Chanel seemed like the perfect idea. The scent is sophisticated without smelling like an old lady and it will last you all day. I think this is a good ‘first Chanel perfume’, it’s young yet elegant and oh so perfect.

If you can get one Urban Decay Naked Palette I recommend Naked2. Naked2 was my first Naked palette I ever owned, since then I’ve collected the other two, but Naked2 is the one that I always come back to. The Naked palettes have become some of the only eye shadows I use and any would be a good choice. I wore the original Naked palette a lot in the summer but the Naked2 is the one that I wore the most this year. Naked2 is described to be shades of taupe. I find that this palette is the most wearable for me on a daily basis. The colors are all gorgeous and super pigmented.

I have been loving winged eye liner lately. I find that it’s a fun way to spice up your look, yet still look classy, if done right. Maybelline “Line Stiletto” is my choice liquid liner to accomplish this look. It has a thin felt tip that let’s me keep control and create sharp lines. The liner itself is very pigmented and doesn’t smudge easily.

And finally, mascara. My favorite had been Benefit’s “They’re Real” mascara. I find this mascara makes my lashes look very volumized and yet defined. It gives a “fake lashes” look without having to wear fake lashes.

I hope you all have a wonderful holiday and a Happy New Year!

Here’s to 2016!

Love, Cattleya.
